Series : Plein Air Landscapes "Gracetown is really special for so many people I know. That arching road announces the arrival from the 'outside'. So much of life - the good and the bad - the meeting of young lovers, the celebration of a marriage, tears of joy and tears of loss, tragedy, delivery and growth - it goes on and on - I met my husband here, lived in our bush shack up on the ridge and welcomed our babies into our world, I had my first working art studio surrounded by the creatures of the banksia coastal scrub and was very sad to leave its sandy ground 10 years latter, now I try to swim here daily reconnecting with its rawness and its quiet charm - so many good memories - the coffee is pretty great too." One from a series of Plein Air painting outings, celebrating all the best spots around the Cape to Cape region. Fi founded a small group of enthusiasts who paint most weeks, searching out those iconic vistas. As the seasons change the trips become more challenging, but the love of being out in nature and connecting with it keeps driving them. Gracetown looking North across from the Swimmers Beach. Spring, when the rain clouds still darken the sky.
