Granadina (MP) is a Spanish fig. It comes from the Balearic Islands where it was part of Montserrat Pons’ fig collection, indicated by “MP” in its name. These are medium-sized figs weighing in around 50 grams. They have thin, green skin with marked ribbing and no crackling. Granadina (MP)’s pulp is sweet and brown-red in color. It has a jammy texture and the fruit has medium firmness. There will often be a drop of honey in the fig’s eye. Granadina (MP) grows on trees with mostly 5 lobed leaves, and will produce a breba and main crop annually. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
