This plant is, in fact, a member of the grape family which is where its common name comes from, but if we're getting all fancy, this plant is known scientifically as Cissus rhombifolia. Grape Ivy is the perfect plant to add to your favourite hanging basket or macrame plant hanger, with beautiful trails of interestingly-shaped leaves which will continue to get longer and longer and longer... In the springtime, you may notice small fuzzy green flowers growing in clusters on this plant, these should turn into dark berries in the summer - just don't eat the berries, they are pretty much just for decoration. CARE FOR YOUR GRAPE IVY:Cissus rhombifolia can grow in low-level lighting which makes it ideal for indoor growing. The soil should be left to dry out almost completely between watering and you should never let this plant sit in water as the roots can rot. An ideal setup would be with the plastic pot above (not touching) pebbles and water, creating a more humid environment for this plant. You can mist this plant regularly to keep the humidity levels higher too. You may find that your Grape Ivy starts growing towards the light source, so you may need to trim it back to keep it from going too wild and wonderful, but we'll leave that choice up to you!
