To the delight of bread lovers and bakers everywhere, artist Leszek Sikon's quintessential Graphite style is adapted for the first time to a handsome, serrated, handcrafted bread knife. Long and straight with wide, razor-sharp serrations hand ground from the 26c3 'Spicy White' carbon steel edge material, the blade is superbly designed to slice full loaves, halve sandwiches, and cut anything else requiring toothy serrations. Leszek's Graphite aesthetic is one we've long been drawn to, defined by the dark finish of the blade's core and cladding material contrasted by a brilliant, bright vein of pure nickel that separates them, an element used to reduce carbon diffusion from the hardened edge to the softer mild steel jackets during forging and heat treatment. Above the blade's bevels a forge-finished stretch shows the hammer marks of the hand-forging process, complemented by the brute-de-forge integral bolster. Finally, a dark, faceted, tapering piece of bog oak completes the comfortable and classic octagonal handle. *Each Graphite knife is forged by hand from house-made steel and may not match the photo exactly.
