Peaceful Valley Grass Valley Range Mix for Dryland is a cool-season reseeding pasture and erosion-control blend developed for dryland sites receiving approximately 10–14 inches of annual rainfall. Its combination of annual clovers and Blando brome provides seasonal forage, ground coverage, fibrous and taproot growth, and the potential for natural reseeding when plants are allowed to mature. The blend contains Hykon rose clover, Denmark subclover, Gosse subclover, Campeda subclover, Losa subclover, and Blando brome. Earlier content incorrectly described this as a perennial native-grass mix containing bottlebrush squirreltail and Sandberg bluegrass; those species are not listed components of this product.Plant in fall before dependable seasonal rain. Control established weeds, create a firm seedbed, broadcast or drill evenly, and cover seed lightly. Where reseeding is desired, delay final grazing or mowing on part of the stand until clovers and brome have flowered and produced mature seed. Performance depends on rainfall timing, soil depth, competition, and grazing management. Application rate: 35 lb per acre for pasture; 25–50 lb per acre for erosion control Plant height: Up to approximately 2 feet Inoculant: No additional inoculant is normally needed; the clover components are Nitrocoated with compatible inoculant. Uses: Dryland pasture overseeding, seasonal forage, erosion control, and managed reseeding Compare more dryland selections in our Cover Crop and Pasture Seed Collection.Note for certified organic growers: Nitrocoated seed is conventionally grown, non-GMO seed with no fungicide or insecticide seed treatment applied before coating. The coating contains certified organic powdered limestone, an organically approved binder, and an OMRI-approved peat-based inoculant, applied through an OMRI-approved process on a dedicated Nitrocoated-seed treatment line.
