His paintings were used to create his landmark Birds of America...a book with 435 lifelike images glorifying the beauty of North American birds that helped spur early conservation efforts. This mug features a reproduction of Audubon's painting of a Great Egret that stresses the bird’s habitat and behavior with the mud chimneys of crayfish, its preferred food, but retains its backward-looking stance.
