Planting: The Green Gable will need a lot of sunshine to develop a solid root system, so find a place in your yard that gets plenty of sun. You may need to stake up small, young trees if you live in a very windy area. And the Green Gable loves moisture, but prefers well-drained soil. When you're ready to plant, dig a hole large enough to accommodate the tree's root ball, place your tree, back fill the soil and water to settle the roots. You can add mulch around the base of the tree for better water retention. 2. Watering: During the first few weeks, water your tree twice a week for 45 minutes.
