Green Jades Green Jades is fascinating and extremely rare shrimps in Australia. Their gene is not stable so we have to do a selection frequently to get a good green color but the quantity is so limited, almost shrimplets are low grade. That's why their price is quite higher than other Neocardinar types. CARING - Green Jades are hard to get good color but easy to care for as they can adapt to a wide range of water parameters, they can be kept in either soft or hard water. We recommend keeping them in hard water with a gH of at least 5 for them to show their best color. The aquarium should be fully cycled before introducing any shrimp. There should be no trace of Ammonia and Nitrite, Nitrate under 25ppm. A weekly water change of 10-20% is suggested to keep the nitrate low. Feed only 2-3 times a week as overfeeding will cause shrimp death. BREEDING - Breeding them is fairly easy, if there is a male and female in the aquarium, they will breed. Female shrimp will carry the eggs for about 30 days until they are hatched to the miniature size of their parents. It is important to have a well-established aquarium in order for the shrimplets to survive as they can only consume biofilms until they grow older. We recommend only keep one strain of Neocaridina shrimp per tank because of crossbreeding, which will revert the offsprings back to wild color. As mentioned above, their gene is not stable, so we need to do a selection frequently to get a good colony. Notes: The pictures above show our adult shrimps with full-color development. Shrimps to be sold are juvenile or sub-adult shrimp (around 0.8-1.5cm). So, they may have less color than adults but we ensure they origin from this colony and worth the money customer spent. Please refer to our video above as the reference for actual shrimps that you will get. Shrimps will be packed in a styrofoam box and shipped every Monday/Tuesday to avoid delay on Weekends. Usually, they arrive within 1-3 business days depending on State and regional. Please follow the tracking number to pick them up quickly after they arrived and acclimate them carefully by dripping water from your tank slowly to their bag/container around 1hour that helps them adapt to new parameters and temp. Stress due to shipping can affect their color, in particular, neocardinar may become pale and quite clear in color when stress. No worries, they will enhance their color back after a few days, if your parameters are right. Please let us know if If there is any dissatisfaction with the color and quality of the shrimp, We will do our best to help and solve the problem. Thank You^^!
