It is highly palatable and nutritious to all classes of livestock. Green Sprangletop is extremely drought tolerant. It grows 2 to 3 1/2 feet tall. It is cold and drought tolerant. This is a short lived grass, but because if its fast germination, quick growth and easy establishment, it maintains itself well. Green Sprangletop grows well on rocky sites as well as rocky soils.
