The debut album from Grinderman—Nick Cave’s snarling, stripped-down side project—is a primal, fuzzed-out blast of garage rock grit and dark wit. Released in 2007 via Anti-, this original U.S. pressing captures the raw, unfiltered energy of Cave and longtime Bad Seeds collaborators Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, and Jim Sclavunos. From the vicious swagger of No Pussy Blues to the hypnotic churn of Electric Alice, this album delivers a dark and dirty dose of blues-punk mayhem with Cave at his most animalistic.
