The most important step for successful punch needle rug hooking is stretching your rug backing REALLY tight on a frame. A general rule of thumb is to stretch the fabric as tight as a drum. Each frame is quick and simple to stretch your rug backing or pattern onto. When your backing is tight, your punch will glide through it with ease. Easy punching makes the craft more relaxing and reduces hand and wrist strain. Taut backing will also make your loops more even!
