Steam rolled oats are steam cooked, then flaked and can be used to make up a balanced diet for all animals. Steam flaking gelatinizes the starch in the oats and makes it more easil y digestible, providing valuable fibre to a balanced diet. Used as a base feed or an additive to an existing feed, it is recommended that if it is a new addition to poultry and livestock that it is introduced gradually over 10-14 days and should be fed in conjunction with chaff, hay and/or pasture.
