When this sand gets excessively wet due to rain, it causes a dough effect making it difficult for the sand to naturally drop through the mat when packing up like it would normally do. (Which happens with all double layered mats) To avoid the sand dough effect, give the mat a good shake daily if there are strong winds at your beach camp pushing excess sand onto your mat, to minimise sand build up in between the two layers Make sure if you are beach camping and you have sand build up, keep the awning out to prevent it from getting excessively wet during any rain or overnight dew if packing up first thing in the morning If conditions are gusty and you pack up your awning on the beach, we recommend it to be good practice to also pack your mat if rain is imminent GET A MAT & ANNEX WALL BUDDY AT 50% OFF WITH YOUR GROUND BUDDY!
