It is my greatest joy to share the wonder of somatics and creativity with humans, and to see what emerges from time connecting with art and embodiment in community. There is something so profound that happens when people gather and create together. This kind of practice is all the more important in these times. To create with our hands. To find new ways of resourcing ourselves. To understand our own inner world through what comes through. And to do this in a community space where we can share this process with others. I am offering the opportunity to experience my work in your own group or community through my facilitation of a group art experience. This can be perfect for groups of friends, work colleagues, or other communities where a greater sense of connection and bonding is desired. If you would like to bring more creativity into your lives, this facilitated class can be a powerful support to give your group tools to continue group art practice with each other in the future! As a guest facilitator, I bring my full presence and facilitation to your group, to guide an art practice, as well as a somatic centering meditation. I also facilitate space for the group to share their process with each other at the end of the ritual, which is a very connective and bonding experience. Please note that this is offered online via Zoom, so that your group does not need to be in the same physical space but can be in the comfort of your own homes all around the world! These classes can be a wonderful way to bond and reconnect with each other as if you are in the same room. A typical class looks like: Introduction and a short description of what led me to this work Reflections and guidance on the class theme and the flow what we’ll be doing together (this can be tailored to your own wishes based on what your class/school/company/group is exploring) A water blessing Somatic centering meditation and orienting to our bodies, space and materials Guided introduction into the art experience Painting time with recorded music accompaniment to sink into the artistic expression Guided emergence from the painting process, with time to be with what came through and to write down any messages that the art or experience gave Facilitated space for community to share their art and experience, insights and reflections Depending on the size of your group, I can offer anywhere from 60-90 minutes of facilitation. This can ensure for enough time for sharing at the end depending on how many people there are. Of course there’s no way to be certain as it depends on the people in the group, but I recommend this general amount of time: 60 minutes - 2-4 people 75 minutes - 5-9 people 90 minutes - 10+ people (realizing that not everyone may have time to or desire to share in a larger group) The main medium I work with is watercolors, because water is such a powerful medium for art creation. In this way, I’d say the best is to have them and some basic watercolor paper (even a cheap Crayola set can be surprisingly satisfying to work with!) That being said, markers, colored pencils, crayons, pens etc. would all be fine, and I recommend each person has their own materials. No one needs to consider themselves an "artist" to join. In fact, these classes can be quite healing for those who have abandoned art for much of their lives, and provide a gentle and safe environment through which to reconnect with the spirit of the inner child. We can explore pretty much any theme you would like to weave into the watercolor work. The water is receptive in nature and will flow with us in such a beautiful way. Themes I've explored in the past in group settings are vast, but I will list some here: embodiment, body awareness, devotion, the muse, the language of nectar, nourishment, health + wellness, shadow work, art + divination, dreams, authenticity, wonder, flower communion, plant spirit medicine, inner child, ancient child, astrological transits, inner self portraiture, animal connection, ancestors, grief + loss... the possibilities are endless! -- These sessions are live via Zoom, and can be recorded for your own personal use if you so desire.
