Gryphon Hydrogen Endurance Drone Hydrogen fuelled drones offer the ability to break the mould and fly many times longer than traditional electric powered drones. We have been pioneering the integration of hydrogen fuel cells for over 5 years, and as the technology matures the power output has increased. We fully understand the unique challenges as well as the benefits of hydrogen fuel technology. We have first hand experience on numerous projects that have attained firsts or world records, this has lead to us developing a very optimised and efficient drone solution for typical camera payloads. The Gryphon Hydrogen drone can fly over 3 hours even with a 2kg camera payload, so whether you need situation awareness for a live event, to feature film to search and rescue endurance is not an issue. Hydrogen Endurance Airframe Bespoke Industrial Frame The industrial octagonal booms and core of the Gryphon airframe is a custom design to cater for the hydrogen fuel cell and tank whilst leaving space for whatever payload option you require. The airframe is based around a flat hexacopter configuration as this offers the best power profile for the hydrogen fuel cell, but also redundancy should a motor fail. The unique Y shaped outer arms are detachable for stowage and transportation, within these arm are the power looms that manage the motors, ESC's and LEDS. The connectors are made from aircraft grade aluminium and secured by pins and bolts to ensure rigidity in flight. Hydrogen Fuel Cells The latest generation fuel cells allows for over 3 hours endurance and unlike traditional battery systems where should the main power fail you loose everything, the hydrogen fuel cell has a backup battery which has sufficient power to allow the pilot to adapt to the situation and land the drone safely. These spare batteries are also charged by the hydrogen fuel cell in flight when there is excess power being generated by the hydrogen fuel cell. Re-fueling Unlike LiPo Batteries where air travel is not permitted as they are considered dangerous goods, meaning that expensive batteries have to be purchased upon arrival, if readily available. Hydrogen fuel is easy to purchase in bottle form at any gas supplier locally. Furthermore you do not need multiple batteries sets to allow continuous filming whilst the battery sets are recharging, as hydrogen tank refuelling only takes a few minutes. Additional benefits are that hydrogen is a green fuel therefore does not have any harmful emissions.
