My fascination with photographing the iconic lifeguard towers in Miami Beach is a pursuit of unique images with each visit. Every morning offers a distinctive opportunity, as no two sunrises mirror each other, and the lighting plays its ever-changing symphony. On the morning I took this photo, a specific vision guided my lens. I aimed to craft a high-key image, delicately muting the sky, water, and sand, while preserving the vibrant essence of the lifeguard stand. Multiple returns to Miami Beach were fueled by the hope for ideal clouds and lighting conditions. Finally, on a particular morning, the elements harmonized, allowing me to materialize the image that had taken shape in my mind. I find myself drawn to the dreamlike quality of this photograph. Retaining the lifeguard stand's vivid color adds an extra layer of interest, enriching the scene with a touch of vibrancy against the muted backdrop.
