A very ornamental shrub with an upright form, it displays maple-like leaves which turn a pinkish red in autumn. Gorgeous flat clusters of small white flowers are produced in spring /summer, which are then followed by small red berries in the autumn. Growing Conditions:Grows best on fertile alkaline clay soils, but also likes neutral wet soils. Value To Wildlife:Flowers good for insects. Berries enjoyed by birds. Important Note:This is a deciduous tree and so will shed its leaves in autumn, in order to protect itself from the cold winter weather.
