This Guillemot Double Kayak Plan adapts my successful designs for a spacious, stable, and comfortable double kayak. Though a stern rudder can fit easily, it is not essential. The cockpits are well-spaced, allowing paddlers to not be in sync. A hatch can fit between them. This is an ideal kayak for two, whether beginners or intermediate paddlers. More experienced paddlers seeking a tandem should consider the Great Auk Double or Fast Double. The deep, roomy cockpits offer comfort and security, and there is ample space for leg movement and dry storage. With a center hatch, this boat can easily accommodate multi-day trips.
