This tree is native to Florida, the Caribbean, and parts of Central and South America, and is commonly found in coastal hammocks and tropical areas—places where sunburn-prone touri sts frequent and just like many tourist, the gumbo limbo has red peeling skin. The scent is a bold, complex fragrance with wide appeal. It leads with spicy top notes of allspice blended with rich leather.
