This gusset is a structural reinforcement bracket located at the bottom of the seat box on the left-hand side, used on Defender and Series vehicles to maintain rigidity at the junc tion between the seat box and the body or floor structure. Over time, corrosion and stress cracking at this area are common, particularly on older chassis, leading to flex and instability in the seat box assembly. Correct replacement restores the intended structural integrity at this mounting point.
