Young Guv, a.k.a. Ben Cook, has a knack for crafting infectious power-pop hits. Since relocating from Toronto to Brooklyn in 2019, Cook has maintained a relentless pace, writing and recording two albums worth of music that blend power-pop, psychedelic riffs, and rock swagger. These sessions resulted in GUV I and GUV II, two halves of a full-length album, initially released separately through Run For Cover Records and directly from Guv himself. Now, for the first time, GUV I & II is available as a complete 2xLP set, featuring 19 tracks in total, including two exclusive bonus songs. The release also includes new artwork by Braulio Amado, adding a fresh visual layer to this musical collection. 2019 has undeniably been a breakout year for Young Guv, with highlights like signing to Run For Cover Records, touring with Culture Abuse and Turnover, performing at Sound & Fury and Matty Matheson’s fest, and hosting his NYC release show. This special edition of GUV I & II offers fans a chance to own the definitive version of his work, available on color vinyl as of November 8th from Run For Cover Records.
