They drop into the back of the wheel and re st on the last shoulder of the wheel. Stamped out of 1/4" thick 1045 high grade USA steel. Wheel center backspaces are as follows... 8x6.5 and 8x170MM will give you about 3.25" backspace. 5x4.5, 5x5, 5x5.5 and 6x5.5 center will give you about 2.75"-3" backspace. Please be aware of this!
