Colourful and exquisite vintage handmade Haitian Voodoo flag of La Sirene. This art piece is unlike anything we’ve ever sourced. Adorned with hundreds of thousands of glass beads and sequins, it shimmers with the light. Meticulously hand-sewn onto satin fabric, Haiti voodoo flags create a rich design inspired by myths, legends, and personal visions of the artist, incorporating ritual drawings, Masonic symbols, and images of mermaids. La Sirene, the queen of the ocean and patroness of music, resides in a stunning underwater palace and represents wealth, possessing all the treasures of the sea. Known also as La Baleine, or "the whale," she is associated with the depths of the ocean. Those possessed by La Sirene may mimic a whale resting on the ground, waving its fins. Her rituals are performed near water, where she is believed to bring luck and prosperity. This piece has been professionally mounted on to a wooden frame but could also be hung straight on to the wall without it. Dimensions: 102cm x 97cm Please note, all items are vintage and/or second-hand and sold as such. Although we make every effort to highlight major flaws, minor imperfections should be expected as reflective of the age and previous use of the piece.
