Hakusan Porcelain Co. began in 1779 in Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, and has been in eight generations of family ownership since then. In 1958, Masahiro Mori designed for Hakusan one of the most iconic Japanese products of all time: the G-type soy sauce dispenser. Design museums around the world have since added the G Soy Sauce to their permanent collections and Hakusan Porcelain have sold almost 4,000,000 of them - surely a sign of a great everyday design.
