You catch the saffron first, then the rose, then the oud that was sitting behind both of them the whole time. Saffron and cardamom open metallic and dry, with bergamot, grapefruit, artemisia and green cypress leaf keeping the top sharp. Bulgarian rose follows, spiced by nutmeg and rounded by jasmine. Then the floor drops out into agarwood (oud), leather, cedar and sandalwood, with amber, tonka bean, vanilla and musk holding the last few hours. For the person who collects rugs and knows what they cost. Wear it to a winter dinner where the lighting is bad on purpose. Leads with presence and stays legible on fabric for a full 8-10 hours.
