Meri Meri's Halloween Lanterns are a set of three paper lanterns in black, orange, and white, each with its own shape and its own character. A round orange lantern wears a big pumpkin face, a wavy black one has a white ghost drifting across the front, and a tall white oval is covered in black bats, front and back. Inner metal supports give each lantern its shape, and orange cords are included for hanging. They look good clustered from a ceiling and just as good strung up in a tree outside, where the bats seem most at home. Some simple assembly is needed, and afterwards they fold back into their paper envelope for storage. Round lantern 16 in (41 cm), oval lantern 17.75 in (45 cm), wavy lantern 19.75 in (50 cm) Meri Meri began in 1985 with Meredithe Stuart-Smith, a pair of scissors, and a stack of handmade greeting cards sold to shops around Los Angeles. Now based in Cheltenham, England, the brand designs party decorations, tableware, dress-up, and gifts with an eye for detail and a strong sense of occasion. Their decorations are made to be packed away after the party and brought back out next year.
