This unique necklace was handmade using traditional metalsmithing techniques. The design was meticulously sculpted in wax, cast in brass, and set with an opal cabochon. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she studied sculpture, metalsmithing, and both large and small scale metal casting. Her jewelry is hand-made in her Chicago studio/home where she aims to create well-crafted designs that are both unique and empowering to the wearer. Designed with strong, clean lines, her jewelry is inspired by a juxtaposition of organic formations and geometric shapes. She aims suspend the wearer in an ethereal place: a place between the impermanent, delicate organic and the impenetrable, industrial qualities of metal.
