Éan Breithe is the bird of birth - Carved from ancient Irish bog oak, sourced near Athenry, Co. Galway. This sculpture suggests the profile of a bird’s head while the wood’s natura l crevices evoke the generative forms of the female body. Subtle touches of real gold leaf highlight its contours, bringing light to the dark, timeworn oak. Resting on a stone sourced from the same field, Éan Breithe embodies themes of creation, fertility, and transformation, linking earth, sky, and the enduring cycles of renewal.
