Matcha whisk painstakingly hand-crafted by a master in Nara, Japan. Most matcha whisks you see on the market are mass-produced in factories outside of Japan, and break easily. We a re honored to be working with a company bringing traditional matcha whisks made from 1 piece of bamboo, from the revered bamboo forest of Nara prefecture. This area is the primary hub of where bamboo tea whisks are crafted domestically, and has been the local craft there for over 500 years and designated a traditional craft by the Japanese government (dento kogei). Only using natural bamboo, there may be color differences between the whisks as the craftsperson determines which part of the bamboo to use depending on each bamboo stalk. When removing from the box, please remove from the handle. The craftsperson has carefully glued each one to the box so they do not become damaged in transport (a common practice even domestically).
