This book fills the gap between what most popular reloading manuals don’t go into and what some of the more esoteric opinionators out there may leave out or otherwise not very thoroughly cover. Think of this as an ammunition owners guide. This book is about the process of handloading ammunition for the competitive rifleman. It is not a program. Instead, this manuscript will examine a multitude of tools, operations, considerations, ideas, bonafide malarkey, and, yes, offer some advice in hopes to better equip someone to determine how best to recycle ammunition for his rifle. Sources for most available information seem mostly to have originated from one of three locales: Jerkwater Falls (Ego Lake subdivision), Deafear Center, or Oz. Gun writers hail largely from the former, reloading industry compilers reside at the next, and the preponderance of benchrest shooter authors receive their mail at the latter. Neither offers what “we” need to know. “We” are that great group of shooters, most likely involved in competitive events (whether for points, pride, or personal accomplishment, organized or not), who want the best value, all around, from our investments. A group, which, for a good working definition, could include everyone but Benchrest shooters. No doubt about it, the primary focus group here is NRA High Power — Service Rifle, Match Rifle, and Long Range. Reason for that is because that’s “me” and most of my efforts, sources, and material is written on that topic. But there’s no doubt varmint, Silhouette, sniper types, and what I call “accuracy minded” shooters everywhere can benefit strongly from the information betwixt these covers. - Glen Zediker
