Thank you to Selina, who is living with MSA and has been busy making beautiful handmade bracelets and earrings. She has generously donated them to the Trust so that we may sell the m on our online shop. The bracelets come in a rainbow of colours, and each one is a surprise! You won’t know which colour you’ll receive — it's a mystery purchase. "Bracelet making started off as a hobby. When I would go to activities organised by our brilliant coordinators, Raquel and Wan, who have been excellent at supporting me as well. It was Raquel who first got me interested in bracelet making after she returned from Colombia and raved so much about the beads out there. She decided to make her own beads and then teach us during activities. We made a Halloween bracelet which had a skull in it, and I was so inspired that I then made a Rasta-coloured one with “Good vibes” written on it. I’ve kept that one for myself because I like red, yellow, and green, like my idol Bob Marley. I then started making bracelets for our carers, who have been very supportive as well, buying the bracelets for charity so I could donate to the MSA Trust — my charity, which has a special place in my heart because it’s what I have. The bracelet making has taken over my whole life so far, and others, like Emilia, our kind night nurse, come and help me make brilliant designs from online examples. I’ve got a queue of carers wanting them in a wide range of designs now, some with their names on or words like “Radiance,” which is what one of the residents says to me when she sees me. I made her a bracelet as a tribute to her. I enjoy it very much, and it is good for my motor skills and hand coordination, as well as bringing me pleasure at the same time." - Selina Show more
