A small green patchwork bag made from pieces of plant-dyed old homespun fabric. I used different shades of green and a few softer earthy tones, piecing them together by hand and leaving the stitching visible. It can be carried by the short handles or worn crossbody with the adjustable strap. What I like most about this bag is the fabric itself. These old plant-dyed fabrics all have slightly different colors, textures, and dye marks. Some pieces only exist in a very small amount, and once they’re used up, they’re gone. Because of that, every bag will have a different patchwork combination. I can keep the overall green tone and feeling similar, but the exact colors and placement of the patches will vary. Even if I dye more fabric later, plant dye is never completely repeatable, so there won’t be two bags that look exactly the same.
