Designed exclusively for our 'Dialogues in Design' range by local designer maker, Gael Emmett, this beautiful ring will make a lovely gift or treat for yourself! As these rings are handmade, each one is unique so the design and pattern will differ slightly from the images shown here. Gael Emmett is a jewellery designer who works in silver, semiprecious gemstones and kiln fired glass. Her work is often inspired by shapes and rhythms found in nature. Gael wanted to create a contemporary response to the ancient designs seen in our Mystery Warrior's armour. She was intrigued by the condition of the pieces when they were found with the North Bersted Man. Her first step was to look at the headdress in detail and sketch out the design in CAD. From this she was able to identify repeat elements and understand the flow of the lines in the design. She made a detailed vector image and produced a 3D relief piece from this. This design was embossed into the surface of the metal to make the final pieces. Show more
