When used under the direction and guidance of the workbook, included with purchase, the athlete has the opportunity to improve their handstands greatly. This will thereby improve performance in gymnastic routines including tumbling, bars, vault and beam. Handstand homework mat:The handstand homework mat is reversible. One side is a cartwheel mat (available in four colours) and the other side is blue carpet which features a 10cm wide by 1.8m long white "beam" stripe. The mat is designed to easily attach to any door with slide-on clips and Velcro straps, but can also be used on the floor. The door onto which the mat will be mounted should not be more than 3.5cm thick. The mat features a front side is closed loop carpet with a white Velcro line going down the centre, the back is 18oz vinyl with the cartwheel hands and feet silkscreen. The small 60cm by 80cm area which sits on the floor when laid out, folds up and out of the way with two Velcro tabs for a secure fit. All mounting hardware is included. Handstand homework book:The 60 page handstand homework book demonstrates the shapes necessary to achieve the perfect handstand. It is filled with pictures of correct shapes, as well pointing out some common misshapes. The workbook also includes some fun "quizzes" about handstands, a "word find" and many other items a young gymnast will surely enjoy while learning at the same time. Fun sticks, small 30cm (x1) and medium 60cm (x2):Fun sticks are an exciting product which have many, many uses. Use a set for jumping over, marking stations, obstacle courses and much more. Fun sticks are an essential element in creating a handstand training system, which helps gymnasts learn to self-correct handstand positioning at all skill levels. The handstand training system is a great side station for bars that will keep your gymnasts working and learning new skills while they wait their turn on bars. All that is needed to create a handstand training system are fun sticks, a wall with closed loop carpet and a floor bar. For early learners, have students kick up to a handstand with their legs touching the fun stick. Move the fun stick down on the wall to wrist height and watch your more advanced gymnast's impressive handstand work Velcro flaps on one end of each fun stick allow them to stand up on closed loop carpeted surfaces. Also, there is Velcro hook on one full side of the fun stick which allows it to be attached to a closed loop wall surface but, fastens closed when not in use covering up the rough hook Velcro surface. Floor bar:This is no ordinary floor training bar. Achieving handstand control is a very important skill for beginners up through advanced gymnasts. The use of a floor bar puts less stress on an athletes wrists. The floor bar features Velcro on its feet to stay secure on carpet foam, allowing gymnasts to do giant, clear hip tap lifting drills without the bars moving. It is very sturdy and its wood surface is pleasant to the touch and provides for a secure grip. These floor training bars are also great for handstands, pirouettes, in-bar and late drops skills. The floor bar can be used in many creative ways with other products where "bounce to handstand" drills can be practiced.
