Scented oil will disperse into the wooden cap. We recommend you put the plastic stopper back on jar to prevent the oil from dispersing when not needed. After some days, the scent may soften. Flipping container upside down again will refresh the scents intensity. Tip: The longer you allow the scent to seep into the wooden cap, the more intense the scent will be.
