Join Ceramic Designer Alex Allday in her studio at Middleport Pottery for a hands-on pottery workshop creating your own porcelain hanging planter pocket. Spend a relaxing couple of hours learning how to hand build in porcelain, along with how to apply a variety of surface decoration techniques using coloured slips, different tools and objects to create sgraffito, textures and patterns on your own beautiful hanging planter pocket. Once fired the pockets are watertight so you can display real flower stems in them. You will be able to practise the different surface decoration techniques onto a couple of porcelain tiles/ plaques or coasters before creating your pocket. These will be fired with your pockets. The size of your finished and fired pocket will be approximately H16cm x W9cm and hang at a length of 26cm. This workshop is the perfect experience to gift to a loved one or enjoy with friends and embrace some time to yourself getting creative.
