About Hanzell Vineyards Hanzell Vineyards is situated at the southern end of the Mayacamas Mountains in the Sonoma Valley AVA, overlooking the picturesque Sonoma Valley and San Pablo Bay. Since its founding in 1953, Hanzell has been one of California's most celebrated and historically significant wineries, widely regarded as a forebear of the state's Burgundy-inspired winemaking tradition.
