When I first developed the Hardbody Leech back in 2009 during my early competition days, I was inspired by a mentor who used this unique weight for streamers. I’ve always loved fis hing leeches, so I incorporated the tungsten belly into this pattern. Over time, the fly evolved—becoming simpler and more effective. I’ve always believed the best flies use three materials or fewer, and the Hardbody Leech is no exception. It gets down fast, moves like a real leech, hides its weight beautifully, and is incredibly versatile. Originally tied as a heavy anchor fly, it’s since proven deadly in stillwaters and even won a few Denver Carp Slams. Show more
