What it is This is a ribbed compartment hook box made from clear, impact-resistant plastic. The ribbed reinforcement keeps it stiff, and the clear lid lets you see what’s in each compartment at a glance. It’s compact and portable, built for keeping small, sharp hardware from turning into a mixed pile. What to tie with it Use it to store, organize, and separate hooks so you can keep sizes and styles sorted for faster tying. It’s handy to dedicate compartments (or whole boxes) to dry fly, nymph, and streamer hooks, including larger stainless styles you’d use for saltwater patterns. Tyers also use compartment boxes like this for small bagged materials when they want things separated and easy to grab at the bench. Flies and the fish they're for This box is about keeping the hooks straight for the flies you’re tying, whether that’s tiny dry flies for trout on tailwaters, nymphs for trout in rivers and high lakes, or bigger streamer hooks for trout and smallmouth in moving water. On the salt side, it’s a clean way to keep larger stainless hooks separated for coastal species like redfish and striped bass. When your hook storage is sorted, you spend your time tying and fishing instead of digging for the right size. How it compares It offers double the storage capacity of Hareline’s 10-compartment version, while keeping the same separated-compartment approach for organizing hooks.
