What it is Hareline’s Fly Tying Material Kit is a compact component system built around fine-diameter tubing for tying tube flies. The parts stack cleanly, cones seat square, and the junctions fit together in a durable way so the finished flies cast easily. It also lets you tune sink rate by adding weighting as needed. What to tie with it Use it to build trout tube-fly bodies for mini streamers, soft-hackle tube flies, and micro-intruder style profiles on tubes. You’ll be stacking components, seating cones, and controlling weight to dial in how fast the fly sinks. It’s set up to keep the hardware consistent so the tube body and junction stay clean and aligned. Flies and the fish they're for Tie Micro Intruders on these tubes for trout, and they also cross over to steelhead and salmon when you want a smaller, lighter intruder-style presentation in rivers. A Trout Sculpin Tube is a go-to for big browns and aggressive rainbows in tailwaters and freestones where sculpins are common. Mini Zonker Tubes and Soft Hackle Tube Leeches are bread-and-butter trout streamers for swinging or stripping in rivers and stillwaters, and they’ll also take smallmouth in current when fished like a small baitfish or leech. How it compares Compared to salmon and steelhead tube systems, this kit is built around less-bulky tubes that fit trout-sized flies better. It also helps you avoid mixed, mismatched hardware by keeping the components designed to seat and stack together cleanly.
