These delightful papier mache (or hariko) daruma ⎯ traditional talismans thought to bring good fortune and inspire perseverance⎯ are traditionally hand made and individually hand p ainted. Inspired by Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism, these good luck figurines are sold with blank eyes, the idea being that you paint in one eye as you set a goal (or make a wish), and the other when you achieve it!
