"This painting captures a beautiful sunset over the unique lava-formed landscape surrounding the North and South Sister Mountains in central Oregon. These mountains, along with the Middle Sister are known as the Three Sisters. Grouped with several other volcanoes, they are part of the eastern segment of the Cascade Range known as the High Cascades. The Sisters Mountains in Oregon are located on traditional lands of several Indigenous groups. These groups utilized the area for hunting, gathering, and other cultural practices for centuries before European settlement. Today, Wasco, Warm Springs, and Paiute peoples live on in this region and are recognized as The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs." - Jessica
