Harp Attack! is like a musical Hurricane Katrina of harmonicas, sweeping through the blues scene with a force that is both awe-inspiring and downright funky. This collaboration between James Cotton, Junior Wells, Carey Bell, and Billy Branch is a masterclass in harmonica wizardry, with each player bringing their A-game to the table. Cotton's gritty vocals and powerful harmonica playing are a force to be reckoned with, while Wells' smooth flair and soulful melodies add a touch of class to the mix. Bell's deep, resonant tones provide a solid foundation for the group, and Branch's fiery solos light up the album like fireworks on Bonfire Night. From the raucous energy of "Dynaflow" to the laid-back groove of "Billy's Boogie," each track on Harp Attack! is a showcase of top-tier musicianship and infectious enthusiasm. The chemistry between the four players is palpable, and their shared passion for the blues shines through in every note. If you're looking for an album that will make you tap your feet, nod your head, and maybe even bust out a harmonica of your own, Harp Attack! is the perfect choice. So grab a pint of ale, kick back in your favourite armchair, and let these blues legends take you on a wild ride through the heart of American music. Cheers to that!
