A 1930's view of Howth Harbour, by British artist Harry Epworth Allen. It depicts a quiet coastal scene, empty of people and clutter. Epworth Allen travelled in Ireland in the 1930 s, mainly around Achill Island and along the west coast. Known as a landscape painter with a surrealist style, he exhibited with the Royal Academy for more than two decades from the 1930s to the 1950s. His work is now in many collections and galleries in the UK. Pencil on paper. 16.5 x 20 cm. Framed on acid-free archival materials with non-reflective glass.
