The magician removes six cards from a deck, and has one freely selected. He shuffles the packet of cards, and arranges them face down in a row. From a small bag, he removes a black die, which he says is haunted. The die is dropped into a small glass. All of a sudden, the die turns itself over until the number three is on top! The third card is turned over, and is, of course, the selected card! The effect can be repeated with a different number appearing on the die.
