This well travelled turtle is one of the seven turtle species (all endangered) that swim the seas of the world. They have been around for roughly 100 million years, and this existe nce is at threat through human actions over the last 100 years. The turtle is already protected, but this does not stop the illegal trade in turtle shells and other turtle based products.
