This medium porcelain pendant shade has been impressed with lavender and grasses. In the kiln the porcelain has warped along the stems of the lavender flowers and it has split at c ertain places allowing more light to escape where the porcelain has parted, creating a flared effect at the rim of the shade. The clay body has been stained pink, which becomes stronger as more light is let through the shade. I have used forest green and sepia glaze stains to accentuate the lavender and grasses. The colour of my porcelain lamps may vary slightly from the image shown. There is a natural variation as different environments effect the light levels emitted through the porcelain.
