Coriandrum sativum. Collected from a Mayo family in Navajoa, Mexico, along the Mayo River, 1995. It was harvested late March to early April, "used like onions in everything", and r eseeded itself plentifully for the following winter. Our Spring 2023 planting grew vigorously, hardy through cold temperatures including a March snow and late April frost, and the volunteers that have come up November 2023 look even better. Plants have a mild, light floral flavor and are very tender. Save the coriander seed to grind for recipes or to plant again. From our Seed Bank Collection. Origin: coastal, low desert, about 300' elevation This is a cool season crop in the low desert, and needs to be planted into cool soil (late winter through very early spring) ... elsewhere grow it in the spring.
