Officially Licensed US Navy HC-9 Protectors Patch — Guardian Angels of the Pacific The Protectors of HC-9 lived up to their name every time they launched on a rescue or resupply mission. Helicopter Combat Support Squadron 9 (HC-9), the Protectors, was a U.S. Navy helicopter squadron that provided combat search and rescue, vertical replenishment, and fleet logistics support. HC-9 operated various helicopter types throughout its service, providing the Pacific Fleet with critical rotary-wing support capabilities. The Protectors' mission was inherently humanitarian and operational — rescuing downed aviators, delivering critical supplies to ships at sea, and transporting personnel in time-sensitive situations. HC-9's legacy lives on in the helicopter sea combat community that inherited its fleet support mission. Perfect For: HC-9 Protectors veterans, Navy combat support helicopter crews, fleet logistics aviators, rescue community members, and Navy helicopter heritage patch collectors. Protectors — guarding the fleet from every flight deck.
