Introducing the Head Hunter, the little brother to the Bush Hunter. When I designed this knife I wanted to make something almost as capable as the Bush Hunter but in a more compact size and lighter weight. This is an excellent knife for moving fast and light in the back country while still being a fully functional survival and field knife. Knife and sheath weigh only 7.5 ounces and is 8.5 inches overall. This knife is available in two different grinds. A 30 degree 3/4 Saber grind which makes for an excellent all around field knife and a 27 degree Hybrid Hunter grind. The Hybrid Hunter is a modern take on the ancient technique of using a chisel ground edge to help skin animals. This creates a blade shape that helps the knife edge separate hide from flesh easier without damaging the hide. This was important for people who needed to use the hide to create tools and shelters. I accomplish this same effect by utilizing a Saber grind on one side and a Scandi on the other while still keeping the edge in the centerline of the knife. As a user you won’t notice the difference in the two sides until you use it for skinning. The Head Hunter retains many of the features of the Bush Hunter including: 1/8” Pop’s Pro Cut Steel, Hardened to 63-64 HRC. Heat treated by me personally with professional heat treating equipment. 4” continuous curved blade with a deep belly excels and skinning and carving.
